Run for the Cure® / Walk for Life 2009

Thanks to everyone who registered, all our sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, we had a record number of walkers/ runners at 1540! With all of your help, we managed to raise over 8 million yen!  We thank each and every one of you who helped in every way, as none of this was possible without you all.

Also, we would like to extend our deepest apologies for the confusion at registration.  The overwhelming number of participants led to a long wait at the registration desk for some and we thank you for your patience. Much improvement is under planning for the 2010 Run for the Cure/Walk for Life. We hope you will continue to support us!

We hope you all enjoyed our event and being a part of raising awareness and 8 million yen that will directly help our mission!  Thank you again and we will see you soon at the Pink Ball on 30th!  

The 2009 6th Run for the Cure®/Walk for Life was held Saturday 17th October.  Teams of colleagues and encouraged employees took part and increased donation through Team Sponsorship from their collective networks.  Participants enjoyed a fun 10k/5k run or 5k walk around the Imperial palace grounds. It was a glorious day with family and friends!  A lot of entertainment like cheerleaders, taiko drumming, and gospel singing as well as a variety of delicious foodstalls were enjoyed while the DJ played great music.  30 lucky winners that were selected 2weeks before the event recieved free mammograms.  Other participants won some great prizes at the raffle. 

2009's raffle grand prize was a trip to the Saipan marathon.  This prize included two round trip tickets to Saipan sponsored by Delta Air Lines, Saipan marathon entry fees and a 3 night stay at Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

BEAMS provided the design for the Run for the Cure/ Walk for Life original T-shirt 2009!
BEAMS has reached their 25th anniversary of their women's section and  over the past 25 years, they have continued to create great fashion for a fun life-style for thousands of women through their stores and products.

BEAMS believes that timely screening and early detection is a key tool in the treatment, survival and recovery of breast cancer and have risen to promote creating a new tradition of care.

Created by Paris resident and illustrator Miwa Goto, the 2009 Run for the Cure/Walk for Life T-shirt provided by BEAMS is a lively, beautiful design.  Each individual participating in the run will receive a T-shirt, so please be sure to encourage your family and friends to join in!  (The cost of the T-shirt is included in the entrance fee).

T-shirts are being re-printed and will be available for purchase through our online shop very soon!
